wow that was bad. LOL.
Of course, I went to see this because I love Bullet Train, the Kingsman series, Trap (of course), and movies of that genre for the kickass action choreographies, so I was excited to see something that, I know wasn’t gonna be Oscar-level amazing, but could be a fun watch on a Friday at least.
Hilarious script at times but other than Josh Hartnett, the acting was,,,, rough, to say the least.
The action-genre gore was fun but some of the music and soundtracks really took me out of it during the especially intense fights (the theater audio being quieter than normal not helping, though unrelated). Some of the music was quite funny though, especially in the mob-fight-while-deathly-high scene, where it’s basically just a huge bloodbath and feels like you see Hartnett previewing Trap 2 right before your eyes. I think if this were a one-man show and none of the other characters but Hartnett and the “Ghost” were in it, the movie would have been a lot better. The whole deal with the ex-gf who is, like, head of the CIA or something now, feels so boring and not well-written or acted out at any point during those scenes (Minus——of course——the first shot of the movie).
Anyways, give Hartnett more action-thriller-comedy roles like this, with better budget and acting, like Trap, and I’ll keep on coming.
